Maybe it's our French lessons, dreams of Paris in Spring or the simple fact that nothing we see coming out of France is ever, well... anything but parfait! Our new darling Le Petite Bohemes is really no different. Filled with fabulous vintage finds, this shop makes you want to go out and redo a room! Who doesn't want to fill a playroom with some of these great vintage pieces! We want them for ourselves!

We know a few ladies out there who are busy designing fabulous nurseries for their wee ones on the way. That got us thinking about nurseries and the season of hope that is upon us. And then we found two companies that are amazing.  Filled with wonderful designs that make you want to start a new decorating project, Avalisa and Cavern Home are known for their style.  But underneath those gorgeous exteriors are gooey and heartwarming loveliness!

Cavern Home located in New York and Los Angeles is known for their fantastic wall paper. But their "Casa de Milagros" design was created from drawings by children and all proceeds go to support an orphanage that provides shelter, food, clothing, and education for those children. 

Another wonderful company is Avalisa.  Renowned for their design expertise, they have partnered with CURE International, a nonprofit that helps fund surgeries for young children in developing countries. Avalisa is working to brighten these young patients' environments. You can help by purchasing a piece of  stretched canvas artwork for a discounted price and choosing which hospital it should be sent to. Since the donated piece comes at a discount, you might want to get one for yourself!

Love these prints from Etsy's Beauchamping(via Poppytalk).  Xylene prints to smarten up any room.  

 After seeing a street sign on the Santa Monica Boardwalk with just a frame and missing a sign, the idea for this Street Art poster was born.  But the post and frame were taken down before Beauchamping could hang his artwork.  

Everybody needs a tribe.

Sweet Paul- On a Rope

We've made our love for swing beds very clear!  Yes, we adore benches, too.  Today at Sweet Paul, it's crafty Friday.  Look what's hanging on a rope. . .

Ideapaint

We are huge fans of chalkboard paint.  So it was only natural that we would fall for ideapaint.  Transforming classrooms, boardrooms, home offices and children's spaces this paint is replacing dry-erase boards one wall at a time.  It is said to be safe from harmful chemicals and will certainly help save a few trees.  Makes us want to have a brainstorming session just so we can take notes!

Milk and Cookie(s)!

We love it when spaces reflect how adults and children can live together with a common aesthetic.  No need for compartmentalizing design- we can all get along! Children can adore more than blue or pink. These lovely pictures from favorite publications Milk and Cookie prove that even the very young can thrive in environments which are beautifully adorned.

Also, sometimes the whimsical touches to common spaces have the makings of amazing childhood memories.

Going on a Bear Hunt!

This might make the classic game a bit too real for the preschool set or thirty somethings.  We might squeal or scream- Loudly! But why not a prop for a good old fashioned bear hunt on a summer day and what a cozy place to curl up and read a book on a rainy one.

A Childhood Dream Realized.

One thing that seems vital in this world is maintaining one's sense of wonder. For Sandra Foster (featured this weekend in On Location in the New York Times), her dream was to live in a lovely Victorian Home. She renovated it herself on a budget of $3,000! On seeing the property for the first time, Ms. Foster says “It was like coming home...." " It was everything I had dreamed of, in every novel I had read, every song I had heard.”

Domino Magazine

We've been lamenting the loss of Domino for quite some time.  Lonnymag is a great online alternative and has been filling in quite nicely.  But we miss you old friend, Domino.  We look in the strangest of places for inspiration and thank goodness because we just discovered Brides Magazine is keeping the Domino dream alive on their site.  Yes, it's true, a bridal site comes through!  Word on the street is that they will keep adding to the archive but here's a taste of what has been preserved.  Dream on. . .

We've Love (d) Mae for quite some time. But now it is easier than ever to get your hands on some of the most adorable wall decals in the land. With an expanded collection, these decals are sure to please young and old! It appears a webshop is in the works! Fabric made and easy to clean, these are easy to love.

Clear the desks!

Timothy Oulton has set the standard for the portable desk.  We're suckers for steamer trunks and this is no exception.  Roll it away, hide the mess and make more space for playing.  We want one, yesterday!
